Customer Feedback in Tucson

Read reviews from satisfied customers who trust BRAKEmax for reliable car repair, quality auto service, and expert vehicle maintenance.

Still have questions? We’ve got answers.

We've put together the most important information on tires, vehicle maintenance, repairs, warranties, and more to help you drive with confidence.

Can I ignore a faulty TPMS sensor?

A faulty sensor means you may not receive a warning if your tire pressure becomes unsafe. Replacing a failed TPMS sensor helps ensure you’re alerted to potential tire issues before they become bigger problems.

Can a TPMS sensor battery be replaced?

In most vehicles, the battery is sealed inside the sensor and cannot be replaced separately. When the battery dies, the entire TPMS sensor is typically replaced.

Do TPMS sensors need to be replaced when I buy new tires?

Not always. If your sensors are working properly, they can often be reused. However, if a sensor has failed or is nearing the end of its battery life, replacing it during a tire installation can save time and labor later.

How long do TPMS sensors last?

Most TPMS sensors last between 5 and 10 years. Over time, the internal battery can wear out, requiring the sensor to be replaced.

What does the TPMS warning light mean?

A TPMS warning light usually means one or more of your tires has low air pressure. If the light stays on after you’ve properly inflated your tires, or if it flashes, there may be a problem with one of the TPMS sensors that should be inspected by a technician.

What does a TPMS sensor do?

A Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor continuously monitors the air pressure in your tires and alerts you when one or more tires are underinflated. This helps improve safety, handling, fuel efficiency, and tire life.

Why do I need a high-CCA battery to handle the Tucson desert heat?

A high-CCA battery is needed in Tucson because intense and prolonged high temperatures significantly accelerate the degradation of standard batteries. The high cranking amps are necessary to overcome the internal resistance caused by heat-induced corrosion and fluid loss. To combat this risk, it is essential to have regular battery checks and maintenance performed by professionals who use high-quality parts that are specifically built to withstand the intense and unforgiving Tucson sun.

How often should I service my vehicle?

You should service your vehicle every 5,000 to 7,500 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first, for routine maintenance like oil changes and inspections. Always check your owner’s manual, as some vehicles and driving conditions may require more frequent attention to keep everything running smoothly and safely.

How do I know what services to perform on my vehicle and when?

Any of our friendly, neighborhood locations can help you determine the schedule that’s best for your car. In many cases, the maintenance schedule is determined by the manufacturer for optimal service life for your vehicle; this can be found in the owner’s manual.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are always welcome.

Will I get an estimate before work begins?

Absolutely. We provide clear estimates and only complete the work you approve.

Why is my check engine light on?

It could be something simple or serious. We recommend a diagnostic scan to find the cause.

How do I know when my next oil change is due?

After each oil change at BRAKEmax, our technician will place a reminder sticker in the upper left-hand corner of your windshield. For added convenience, we can also send you a service reminder when it’s time for your next appointment. To enroll in this program, ask your Service Advisor for details.”

Is my warranty voided if I get non-dealer work done?

No. In fact, it is against the law for a manufacturer to dishonor their warranty just because the vehicle was serviced elsewhere. As long as the service is performed by capable car mechanics like the ones at your friendly neighborhood BRAKEmax, your warranty is valid.
